REVIEW: Beauché Beauty Bar

Hi everyone! Eversince I experienced my acne breakout I tried a lot of soaps and facial wash to help improve my skin condition and Beauché products have been on my list. Today I am going to review the Beauché Beauty Bar. I have been using this for more than a month and I am ready to share my experience with you guys so please feel free to read. Good day!

P_20170926_130405

This is how the product looks like. It’s an orange bar in a transparent plastic with the logo and details printed on it. The expiration date of the product is also indicated in the packaging which is a plus for me. The product wiegh 90g.

CLAIMS:

Helps whiten the skin and remove pimples.

INGREDIENTS:

P_20170926_130441

PRICE:

I got this for 40 PHP from a local department store.

THOUGHTS:

I use this product twice a day, in the morning and at night.

TIP: Slice the bar in half to help prolong the use of the product.

WHAT I LIKE: about the product is that it’s cheap and widely available. It also smells sweet and orange-y. Most of all it is effective! As I said, I used a lot of soaps to help improve my skin condition but only this beauty bar had a positive effect. It feels really soft upon washing and it leaves the skin really clean. In weeks time, I noticed that my pimples started to dry out and slowly disappear. Now, believe me or not, my skin has improved a lot although I am not acne free yet but still, it helped banish those pimples. It does not prevent me from having pimples but when they come this soap really does a great job in eliminating them. Honestly, I was skeptical to try this soap because I thought it is not effective or it may worsen my skin condition but on the contrary it is effective. It lighten some of the acne marks and hyperpigmentation but it also lighten my skin which makes some of the acne marks more visible.  I still need more help in ligthening the scars which is the new challenge for me. Nonetheless, I really liked this product.

WHAT I DON’T LIKE: about the product is that it dissolves easily and when it does it’s kinda messy. So i have to make sure that it is kept in a dry place with a drainage on the container after using. And I noticed that it made my skin really oily. Yes, which is a bummer honestly. Eversince I used this my face would produce a lot of oil. Sometimes I get really oily as if I applied oil on my face and it makes me uncomfortable. However, I really liked the soap that is why I am still using this.

Overall, I think that the Beauché Beauty Bar is one of those underrated soaps in the market. It’s cheap and effective but not many filipina try it out. I would really recommend this to those people suffering with acne but just remember that it takes time before you see results.

REVIEW: Physiogel Hypoallergenic Daily Moisture Therapy Dermo-Cleanser for Dry and Sensitive Skin

Hi everyone! Today I am going to review the  Physiogel Hypoallergenic Daily Moisture Therapy Dermo-Cleanser for Dry and Sensitive Skin. When I was struggling with my acne breakout I resorted to gentle cleansers in the hope to soothe my irritated skin and that was when I encountered Physiogel. Please feel free to read my review and I hope this may be of any help to you.

This is how the product looks like. It comes in white opaque bottle with a box. Honestly, it looks like a medical product for me, if you know what I mean. The product comes in different volumes, 300 ml, 150 ml and 50 ml. Mine was in a 150 ml bottle.

P_20171102_151913

It has a white creamy gel consistency and smells like a regular lotion.

CLAIMS:

Daily use cleanser for dry and sensitive skin that can feel tight and uncomfortable. This gentle cleansing gel is appropriate for frequent use with or without rinsing. Also suitable for babies and children. No colorants.

Technology:

Daily Moisture Therapy Dermo-Cleanser is designed to work gently to cleanse dry sensitive skin effectively. This mild cleanser has a soft texture and is formulated to leave skin feeling clean and soft.

Key Benefits:

Gentle cleansing for dry sensitive skin.

pH balanced to help reduce potential for irritating dry skin.

DIRECTION FOR USE:

Use without water: Apply a liberal amount of cleanser and rub gently Remove excess with a cotton pad.

Use with water: Apply cleanser to the skin and rub gently. Rinse.

INGREDIENTS:

P_20170926_130303_1

PRICE:

The 150 ml bottle costs 220 PHP on watsons.

THOUGHTS:

I used this product every morning only. I wanted to use a gentle cleanser to lessen the irritation on may face. This was actually a gift from my ninang.

WHAT I LIKE about the product is that first, it is a cheaper version of Cetaphil, for me at least. Second is that it is a mild and gentle cleanser, pH balanced and soap free. I also like that it is moisturizing. If you’re into skin care, you would know that pH balanced cleanser is a must to maintain the natural skin barrier of the skin. It does not leave a sticky film or feeling after rinsing. Although it can be used without water I still prefer to rinse it just to make sure that no product is left on my skin.

WHAT I DON’T LIKE about the product is that it’s TOO moisturizing for me. It may sound contradicting to what I said but I think the moisture was too much for my skin to handle. I noticed that every time I use this my pimples would get really red and inflamed. At first  I thought it was just my pimples acting out but when I stopped using this I noticed a big difference. Yes I stopped using this after how many days because of this observation. Don’t get me wrong. It was my fault for using a product not intended for my skin type. I have combination to oily skin type and this is obviously way too moisturizing for me. I am also quite unsure of it’s cleansing properties. If you read my posts, you would know that I am using the Acne Care drying lotion every night and I wash it off with this cleanser in the morning. After washing I still see some of the drying lotion still on my face, though in very very small amount. I had to completely remove it with a toner next. So I don’t think this would work as a night cleanser unless you want to wash your face twice. I also feel a very slight stinging right on the area between my nose and my mouth although it’s not really that bothering. There are a lot of gentle cleansers out there that are made specially for oily skin.

Overall, I think this would for people with dry and sensitive skin since it is gentle and moisturizing. Still, I am not convinced with its cleansing properties. **Please take note that this is a point of view of a person with combination to oily skin. **

REVIEW: Maxi-Peel ZERO Micro-Exfoliant Fluid

Hi everyone! Today I am going to review the Maxi-Peel ZERO Micro-exfoliant fluid. I finished the bottle first before reviewing the product so I can give a full and honest review. Please keep on reading. Thank you.

So this is how the product looks like. It comes with a box, with a white opaque bottle and a gray cap. It contains 50 ml of product. The expiration date is indicated at the bottom of the bottle.

P_20171102_151419

This is how the product looks like on the cotton. It’s yellowish and liquidy. It smells like the other maxipeel products but not as strong.

CLAIMS:

A facial cleanser only cleanses the topmost layer of your skin, leaving deep-seated, acne causing dirt and oil behind. Maxi-peel ZERO Micro-Exfoliant Fluid does so much more.

With Maxi-Peel ZERO, each layer of your skin is given the special care it deserves, done gently with ZERO redness, and ZERO peeling.

Made up of Skin Renewal Micro-exfoliants and Skin Vitamins, it penetrates, cleanses and exfoliates to reveal radiantly clear, smooth, fair skin from inside out.

● First, it prepares your skin’s outer layer by unclogging your facial pores with the help of BHA micro-exfoliants.

● The next layer of skin is relieved from all dead skin cells, acne scars and blemishes through the power of AHA micro-exfoliants.

● Going deeper, it loosens the buildup of skin contaminants and helps prevent development of acne.

● Finally, vitamins B3, C and E protect each layer on the inside, and lightens your skin tone on the outside.

That’s the complete skin care with Maxi-Peel ZERO. ZERO redness and ZERO peeling, only beautifully renewed skin.

DIRECTION FOR USE:

Apply on cotton and spread on face and neck. Use once at night before bedtime. Use Maxi-Peel Sun Protection Cream during the day to protect your skin from harmful UV rays.

Sunburn alert: Continue using sunscreen and avoid excessive sun exposure until after 1 week of product usage. This product contains an alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) that may increase your skin’s sensitivity to the sun and the possibility of sunburn.

Warning: Do not use with other exfoliants or cleansers. Do not apply on wounded skin and the eye area. Not to be used by children under 3 years of age. For external use only.

INGREDIENTS:

P_20170926_130143_1

PRICE:

I got this for 79 PHP from a local department store.

THOUGHTS:

I was supposed to review the product after a week of use but I was constantly sleeping really late so I thought it was unfair to share my experience. So I decided to review it after finishing the whole bottle instead and so here it is! The ingredients are really promising as it contains AHA and BHA which are chemical exfoliants. If you don’t like the harshness of physical exfoliants you might want to switch to products with these ingredients. The claims are promising too. If you read my past reviews you would know that I have been struggling with acne so I was convinced to try this.

I use the product right after washing my face every night only. I use a different toner in the morning as this product can be sensitizing. It is alcohol based which is a bummer for me, however surprisingly, it is not drying and at the same time it felt cool when I applied it on my face. It does remove dirt really well as the cotton ball turned dirty right after application. After a week of use, pimples started to appear and some of the existing pimples even worsen. As I said, I frequently slept late so I thought it was because of that but as I continued using the product I experienced the ‘purging stage’. I call it the purging stage because all the zits that has been lying underneath my skin came out and went all out. When this happened I was hesitant to continue using the product but I thought maybe it was part of the healing process and I was partially right. Right after the purging stage, the pimples dried out and banished. Although not all, but there was a difference, though I do not entirely credit the product for the effect but I thought it helped. It did not prevent me from having new pimples since they still appear while I used the product. As for the smoothening and lightening effect, my face did smoothen and lighten up but I think it was because of the other product that I used (which I will be reviewing soon). I still have a lot of acne scars which is now a new challenge since it takes forever to remove them. There was no peeling and skin redness that’s for sure. It is indeed gentle if compared to other maxi-peel products, however, it stings; eapecially if you have active pimples or newly popped zits and if you put a lot of the product. Overall, I think that this is afairly good chemical exfoliant. It’s cheap and it somehow worked for me, although it did not really live with some of it’s claims. If you want to try this out please don’t expect to much over a short period of time.

REVIEW: Bare Essentials Organic Grapeseed Oil

Hi guys! It has been a while since I wrote a review. I’ve been busy this past few weeks but now I will be reviewing the Bare Essentials Grapeseed Oil. I got this product last january and I used it a lot since then. I watched a lot of youtubers who said that oil is a game changer in their skincare routine so  I got curious and tried to use oil on my face and I want to share my experience. Please take time to read the review. Thank you.

P_20170929_135220

This is how the packaging looks like. It comes in an amber bottle with a pump. It contains 30 ml of organic grapeseed oil. I like that it comes with a pump, it’s easier and more hygienic to use.

P_20170929_135254

The oil itself is clear and really lightweight. It doesn’t feel so sticky. It does smell a little bit of typical cooking oil.

CLAIMS:

Grapeseed oil is extracted from the seeds of grapes. It is a good source of vit. E and fatty acids. It also has strong anti-oxidant compounds which is about 50 times stronger than vitamin C and E.

1. Prevents/cures acne and pimples

2. Tightens skin specially those who have oily skin.

3. Minimizes under-eye circles.

4. Moisturizes skin.

5. Innate scar healing properties

6. Prevents skin aging

7. Provides relief against pain and swelling caused by arthritis

8. Great in healing wounds.

9. Lightens skin and keeps skin firm and smooth.

INGREDIENTS:

100% organic grapeseed oil

PRICE:

I got this on shopee for a 180 PHP.

THOUGHTS:

As I said earlier, I started using this last january and finished the whole bottle by half of this year. I was excited to use this since I heard a lot of reviews that oil can really be a game changer. I apply this everynight right after my moisturizer. If I don’t go out, I sometimes use it in the morning. A pump of the product is enough to cover my face and my neck. I like that the oil is really lightweight. It didn’t make me feel sticky at all and it is indeed moisturizing. I wake up with a moisturized but not oily face the next day. I have combination to oily skin and I like that it did not make my face even oilier than it is. I did not have any breakouts while using this product. I also noticed that overtime, some of my little pimples dried out and banished. Some of my scars did lighten up but very minimally, although I’m quite unsure if it’s because of the oil or the other products that I used. Nonetheless, it worked well with the other products that time. I don’t really have dark under eye circles so I can’t really say if it can lighten it up. It did not lighten up my face, but it maintained the original tone and I did feel my face smoothen up while using this product. Do I think it’s a game changer? I don’t think so. I mean, it’s moisturizing and I did not breakout knowing that it’s an oil but still I did not see any drastic changes on my skin. Maybe if I used another type of oil (like rosehip oil) then I might see more visible results, with of course, commitment with the product.  Overall, I think it is a good product for those who want to incorporate oil into their skincare routine, just don’t expect too much over a short period of time.

I won’t be pruchasing it again since I have been trying a lot of product now.

REVIEW: St Ives Fresh Skin Apricot Scrub

Hi everyone! I will be reviewing the St Ives Fresh Skin Apricot Scrub. This was the first face scrub that I tried when I started my skincare. I think I gathered enough experience with this one so let me share it to you. Please keep on reading.

I got the 28g product with a tube type packaging. This is also available in bigger tubes and even in pot types packaging. This little tube will last for a long time if you only use the product on your face.

P_20170929_135701

It has this dirty white creamy consistency with little apricot granules for the scrub.

CLAIM:

Brand Phylosophy:

St. Ives is bringing you the best of nature with formulas that delight the senses as they leave your skin with a soft, fresh feel.

DIRECTIONS:

Moisten face with water. Dispense product onto fingertips and massage over face. Rinse with water. For best result use 3 to 4 times per week.

INGREDIENTS.Photo editing_Cloud20171001

PRICE:h

I got this for 79 PHP on watsons.

THOUGHTS

First, this product is paraben and sulfate free so to those who are in particular with the ingredients you might want to know. Although the brand recommends to use this 3 to 4 times a week, I only exfoliate with this twice a week. This has been my 3rd tube and it smells good, actually, which means it has fragrance. I really liked the product before as it helped me brighten up and smoothen my face. I did feel freshen up even after rinsing. My face was free of dead skin cells and I really liked how it felt. Luckily I did not have any breakouts while using the product. However, the scrub is a little bit harsh so I will not really recommend this to people with dry and sensitive skin. You might find this irritating. Now, I seldom use this as a scrub since I have been breaking out. There was a time that I used this to exfoliate my face because I felt like it is congested but it was a mistake. My acne went worse because the scrub caused the bacteria to scatter around my forehead thus, making it a lot worse. I just want to say it clearly that it was not the product’s fault. It was my fault for using the product on my face without considering the situation. Do not physically exfoliate if you have acne breakouts lying around your face. I have been using chemical exfoliant now, such as BHA and AHA, and I would recommend if you use it too. Overall, I have nothing against this product, only that it’s a little harsh on the face.

RATING: 3/5

PS. I have combination to oily acne prone skin.

REVIEW: Moringa-O Malunggay Herbal Facial Toner

Hi guys! How are you? It’s been a while since I reviewed a product. Today I am going to review the Moringa-O Malunggay Herbal Facial Toner. This product is from the makers of Gluta-C. I started using this last year. I’ve tried different toners since and now I am back to using this again. If you read my previous post, you know that I am suffering from acne breakout. I felt like I’ve been too harsh on my skin so I thought of going back to my original skincare to help calm it. Please keep on reading and I hope this review will be helpful to you.

It comes in a clear bottle with a green lid. It has 100 ml of product. The ingredients and claims are all written on the label. The manufactured date is also written on the bottom of the bottle.

PRICE:

I got this for 99 Php at Watsons. It’s actually cheap for a 100 ml of product.

THOUGHTS

This review will be based on my experience last year when I was using this product religiously. Before, I used this twice a day, at day and night. Since I am trying the maxipeel zero, now, I only use this in the morning. I apply this with a cotton ball. First, it has this herbal smell to it which I find somewhat calming. Since it is alcohol-free it doesn’t have a strong alcohol scent. It doesn’t sting upon application, and it’s cool on the face. I can atest that it is indeed gentle. I use cotton balls to apply this on my skin. It does remove excess dirt. I noticed dirt on the cotton even after washing my face and it removes makeup fairly well. I do feel that it hydrates my skin. I did not have any breakouts while using this product which is why I keep on purchasing this back then, however, I noticed that it does not cure existing pimples. Also, it did not minimize my pores but I noticed that it reduced my oil secretion, though not significantly. My skin did lighten up while using this, but I’m not saying that this product alone brighten it up. I just think that it worked well with the other products that I was using back then. Overall, I really liked this product. It’s alcohol-free and it does some of what it claims. I have been purchasing this again and again last year. However, I don’t think I will purchase this again since I still have another toner I want to try. Don’t get me wrong, this is a good product and I would recommend it to people with dry skin and even oily skin.

REVIEW: Acne Care Drying Lotion

Hi, everyone! Today I am going to review the AcneCare Drying Lotion. As I said in my earlier posts I have been breaking out lately and I am trying various products to improve my skin condition and Acne Care Drying Lotion is one of the products I tried and tested. Feel free to read and I hope this review will be helpful to you.

P_20170913_132754

This is how the product looks like. It contains 55 ml/1.86 fl. oz of product. It comes with this box and a clear, plastic bottle. the box has a seal to make sure that the product is unused and new. I believe they this is the new packaging. The old packaging came with a glass bottle.

P_20170913_132954

The product is a suspension which means that there are solid sediments included. These sediments are the medicine. You are not supposed to shake the bottle to get the sediments. (The bottle was shaken when I was trying to get the sediments.)

CLAIMS:

A fast acting, effective acne spot solution for all skin types.

INGREDIENTS:

P_20170913_132822

HOW TO USE:

Dip a cotton swab into the pink sediment. Dab on the affected area after cleansing of face and let it dry overnight. Wash off in the morning.

COMPATIBILITY TEST:

Learn how to choose your acne care solution. To check if compatible with your skin, dab a small amount of Acne Care Drying Lotion onto one of your prominent pimples for 12 to 24 hrs. Examine if there are redness, itchiness or skin irritation. If no skin reaction occurs, you may safely use the acne drying lotion onto your face.

TIP: Don’t shake the product before using. Just get the sediments settled in the bottom of the bottle.

PRICE:

I got this for 299 PHP on Watsons.

THOUGHTS

Before using the product I suggest to try the compatibility test first to avoid irritation, even though it claims to be good for all skin types still it pays to be safe. I have been using this product every night after my skin care routine for almost two weeks now and I’m glad I can share my experience. It felt cool when I applied it on my zits and it stung but very bearable. The next day I noticed that some of the pimples dried out and some cystic acne developed pus. I had a hard time convincing myself not to pop the zits since they are very tempting. I do have to say that this is not an overnight cure for pimples unless they are very small then they would dry out the next day, but it is effective. After 3 days or so I noticed some of my pimples dried out. I did notice very minimal peeling though but it’s not irritating. I am satisfied with the effects of this product. It works well. A lot of people say that this is a dupe for the Mario Badescu Drying Lotion. I haven’t tried it yet so I can’t really confirm that. Nonetheless, this product receives my thumbs up when it comes to curing my acne.

If I still have acne after finishing up the bottles I am going to purchase this again.

REVIEW: Alumina Dual Clarifying System

Hi, everyone. Today I am going to review the Alumina Dual Clarifying System creams. Previously I reviewed the Alumina 2 – Soap Clarifying System. If you read my previous posts you would know that I did not really like the soaps that’s why it took me a few more days to test out these products. I am using this for roughly 3 weeks now and I think I can share my experience while using these.

THOUGHTS

The AM cream (white) PURE GLOW

Antibacterial Tinted Face Cream

The PM cream (PM) PURE REVEAL

Antibacterial Face Cream

I only use this cream in the morning every time I go out, but I have to stress that I seldom go out of the house so I don’t really use this that often. So now let’s break down the claims.

Firstly, I have to say that this product has a very faint medicinal smell and it’s okay. Secondly, I have to agree that this cream does conceal acne. I applied a lot of the product the first time I used it and I did not expect that the cream will be very light for my skin tone. I thought it was a bummer, however, after 3 minutes or so I noticed that the cream oxidized and matched my skin tone. I was amazed by the finish. It was really lightweight too and I feel like it still allows my skin to breathe. Now, one pump of the product is enough to cover my entire face. It works as a regular BB cream and concealer, though it did not completely conceal the acne. I am still quite unsure about how it reduces pimple marks since my pimple marks are still very visible.  Thumbs up for the broad UVA/UVB spectrum, though I still use sunblock before applying this cream.  It did not clog my pores, however, it did not really control my sebum production. I still oil up to the max even after using this product.

I use this product every night, right after cleansing. I was using these creams with the Alumina 2-Soap clarifying system at first but I had to stop using the soap.

The cream smells like toothpaste with a little petroleum. It is kind of weird, I know, which is why I hesitated a bit but still, I tried it. I only use two pumps of the product for my entire face. When I used this cream I wake up with a really oily skin the next day as if I literally applied oil on my face which I find uncomfortable. I also noticed that some of my cystic acnes develop pus the next day. I find it better that way because it is less painful and it somehow reduces the inflammation and at least I know it is healing. However, it did not prevent me from having breakouts. I still get breakouts here and there while using this product. By the way, cystic acnes are those red bumps that are really painful wherein the inflammation is deep in the skin.

Overall, I think the creams were not bad, especially the AM cream. I like that it works as skincare and makeup at the same time, very practical. The creams somehow work. Although the claims were really impressive it did not really live with the effects. I think that there are a lot of better anti acne creams out there. No, I don’t think I’m going to purchase them again. Not unless they sell the AM cream separately, I’ll consider. lol

RATING: 3/5

I hope this post helps you in one way or another. Please stay tuned for other reviews!

DISCLAIMER:

I bought this product with my own money. This is not sponsored. Also, please consider that my reviews are solely based on my experience while using this product. If you had a different result while using the same products that is because we have different and unique skin. Nonetheless, thank you for reading.

REVIEW: Alumina 2-Soap Clarifying System

Hi! How are you? Today I’m going to review the Alumina 2-Soap Clarifying System (Check out the next post for the reviews about the creams). I have a really bad breakout around on my forehead, chin and around my mouth. This really stresses me a lot because it’s my first time to experience a severe breakout. I have oily and acne prone skin but I never experienced something like this. My forehead is filled with tiny bumps and cystic acne. The area around my mouth has a lot of acne that is ready to pop anytime. This problem started just this year and Alumina Clarifying System was one of the products I’ve tried. I’ve been using this for two weeks now and I think I can give you an honest review.

This is how the packaging looks like. It comes in a box. I was impressed with the packaging of this product. Inside the box are the products. Further explanation on how to use the product is stated inside the packaging too.

And these are the products. It has 2 soaps inside, thus the name. Soap 1 (white soap) is for exfoliation while the Soap 2 (green soap) is for purifying.

CLAIMS

DERMATOLOGIST ADVISE: To achieve a clear-healthy complexion, it is important to properly EXFOLIATE SKIN on a regular basis. However, Exfoliating your skin TOO MUCH or TOO HARD can cause more harm than good – it can strip away essential layers of healthy cells and reduce skin’s natural defenses, making it prone to photo damage, premature aging: hypersensitivity and irritation.

ALUMINA helps achieve a SAFE and EFFECTIVE way to care for your blemished, pimple-prone skin by encouraging a proper way to EXFOLIATE and PURIFY skin introducing a 2-SOAP CLARIFYING SYSTEM.

It has 2 soaps inside, as the name says. Each of the soap has a specific function.

White soap (Exfoliation) Green Soap (Purify)
Formulated with gentle exfoliants to lift off unsightly dead skin cells and other skin impurities. Deep cleanses and unclog pores, eliminates excess oils and promotes cell regeneration. Contains a powerful natural antiseptic Tea tree oil and Mangosteen extract working together to fight stubborn pimples and other impurities; soothes skin and prevents inflammation; helps reduce pimple marks.

ACTIVE INGREDIENTS

Tea tree oil and Mangosteen Extract. I have to say that the ingredients of these products are promising. (You may refer to the photos for the complete ingredients.)

DIRECTION FOR USE

White soap (Exfoliation) Green Soap (Purify)
Use white soap twice a day (day and night) for 1-2 weeks depending on skin type. For sensitive skin type, a shorter period is required. Skin will feel tight and dry when it starts to exfoliate. A slight stinging sensation is normally experienced. For best results, follow with Alumina Antibacterial Face cream after washing the face. Use green soap twice a day (day and night) for 2 – 4 weeks until the skin gets clearer and smoother. If dead skin cells start to accumulate revert to SOAP 1 and then soap 2 following the same usage instructions.

PROPER WAY TO USE THE SOAP: Work up a lather on wet hands and smooth all over the face avoiding the eye area. Massage gently on the skin for 1 minute, and let it stay on the face for another 1 minute. Rinse thoroughly. Store in a soap dish with a drainage.

PRICE:

I got this for 150 PHP from a local Natasha dealer. You can purchase it from any Natasha dealer and outlet.

THOUGHTS

Before I begin I just have to reiterate that I have combination to oily acne prone skin.

White soap (Exfoliation) Green Soap (Purify)

I used this soap for a week before proceeding to soap 2. I gently rub my face with this for a minute and then I leave it there for another minute. I like the idea that this soap exfoliates without the harshness of physical scrubs. It doesn’t have a strong fragrance, in fact; it’s almost odorless which is a good thing since I’m really in particular with odor. It lathers really well. I did experience a very slight stinging while using this but it’s bearable. It leaves my skin squeaky clean but not too dry. My skin lightens up while using this product maybe because of the exfoliation, however, it neither prevented nor eliminated the pimples on my face.

After a week of using the white soap, I then proceeded to this soap. I was excited to try this because of the claims however, I was a little disappointed. Like the white soap, it doesn’t have a strong fragrance and is almost odorless. It lathers well too. I used this like how I used the white soap. The first time I used this product I experienced a really strong stinging sensation. I was supposed to leave this on my face for a minute but I had to rinse it right away because I couldn’t bear the stinging. It leaves my skin squeaky clean and really dry after wash. I feel like it strips the natural oil of my face which is not good for the natural skin barrier. The next day I was really hesitant to try it again because it really hurts on the first try but still I gave it a try. It still stings but less than the first time. I used this for only a week and then I had to stop. I felt like the soap was irritating and it did not do anything with my acne either. I am supposed to use it for at least 2 weeks but I thought it’s not worth the gamble.

Over all I think the white soap (exfoliation) is a good soap, however, I am quite skeptical about the green soap (purify). I don’t think I am going to purchase this product again.

By the way, please check out the next post for my review on  Alumina Dual Clarifying System creams. I used the creams along with the soaps. I am still using the creams and I want to look more into the results. So please stay tuned.

REVIEW: HIMALAYA HERBALS Clear Complexion Whitening Face Scrub

HI, guys! How are you? I am going to review the Himalaya Herbals Clear Complexion Whitening Face Scrub. I have been using this for a while and thought to make a review on this product. Please feel free to read. I hope this post will be helpful to you.

This is how the product looks like. It comes in a 100 ml tube.  There is also an expiration date on the packaging which is good.

It has a creamy consistency and little brown beads, apricot granules, for the exfoliation.

CLAIMS:

A complexion-enhancing scrub with mild exfoliants that brings out your natural fairness and reveals glowing skin. Licorice and White Dammer help regulate melanin synthesis while Apricot granules gently scrub away dead skin cells, blackheads, and deeply embedded impurities. The result is visibly brighter, soft and glowing skin.

ACTIVE INGREDIENTS:

Licorice, White Dammer and Apricot granules

DIRECTION FOR USE:

Gently massage with fingertips in a circular motion over damp face and neck, avoiding the area around eyes. Wash off and pat dry. Use 2-3 times a week for a healthy, glowing skin.

PRICE:

I forgot the price of this product, it has been a while since I bought this. I remember this is less than a 150 php.

I got this on Watsons.

THOUGHTS.

This product has been with me for a long time and I haven’t been able to finish the whole tube. Honestly, I did not really like this product. It stings and it’s itchy on my face. At first, I thought maybe it was my imagination so I gave it more tries and still I felt itchiness when I applied it. Though I found it irritating I did not have any breakouts while using this product.  It also has this strong fragrance which I am not comfortable with.  If you have acne or acne prone skin I suggest going away from products with fragrance. It claims to be hypoallergenic which is a good thing though. I had no problems with the exfoliation, however, I did not see the whitening effect since I discontinue using this on my face. It works as a standard scrub so I use this as a body scrub instead. I have nothing much to say about this product since I did not really like it.
